Designed by Theodore Link, the building features a 280-foot-tall clock tower. At the time of its construction, it was the largest, busiest railroad station in the world.
Contributor: Audrey Fullerton-Samora of Sacramento, great niece of William and Grace McCarthy, donated the William M. McCarthy Photograph Collection to the California State Archives in 1996.
