American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of California

Another bicentennial project funded by the commission was the acquisition and restoration of a nineteenth century Central Pacific Railroad car by the California Department of Parks and Recreation. $17,000 in federal matching grant funds was awarded to pay for the purchase and transportation of the passenger car to Sacramento, and to pay the skilled craftsmen needed to bring the car back to life.
